Special General Meeting - 29 NOVEMBER 2026

The Broome Fishing Club Incorporated will be holding a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Sunday 29 November 2026.

Date: Sunday 29 November 2026
Time: 4:30pm
Location: Broome Fishing Club

Members will be asked to consider and vote on proposed amendments to the Club's Constitution & Rules.

The key proposed changes include:

Part 3 – Members | Rule 8: Classes of Membership

  • Introduction of a new Day Membership category.
  • Amendments to the wording relating to Social Members and Life Members.

Rules 15 & 16 – Disciplinary Action

  • Rule 15 – Suspension or Expulsion: Proposed amendments would allow the Committee to implement an immediate interim suspension where circumstances warrant it, such as breaches of competition rules or concerns for the safety or welfare of others, while the formal review process is undertaken.
  • Rule 16 – Consequences of Suspension: Proposed amendments would provide the Committee with additional discretion to impose appropriate restrictions during an interim suspension, including restricting or removing a member's ability to participate in Club competitions or activities.

These amendments are intended to provide the Committee with greater flexibility to respond to situations requiring immediate action while maintaining the formal disciplinary review process.

Members are encouraged to review the full proposed Constitution & Rules, available in the Downloads section below, prior to the meeting.
